Case Study - Oasis Research
Oasis Research is a
marketing consulting company specializing in strategic
customer feedback. Founded in 1998 with a restaurant client
with a need for better customer service, Oasis Research
created customer feedback programs to review, to refocus,
and to retrain employees so that the end product was the
intended branded product. Today, Oasis Research’s main focus
is detailed secret shopper reports. The Company also manages
on-line research, phone research and customer satisfaction
studies. Oasis Research handles primarily higher-end retail
clients, who believe in higher end customer service and
on-going research to meet specific goals and objectives.
This approach to strategic research is different than most
national quantitative “research” houses.
Oasis Research needed a way to
provide the research reports it produces for its clients
online and in a way that allowed each client to access only
its own reports. In addition, some clients needed the
reports broken down by region and then by stores in each
region. Oasis had previously sent hundreds of emails to
contacts at clients with the reports attached to the email.
iTechPro provided an Office 365
SharePoint site with Office Web Apps that perfectly meets
the needs of Oasis research and its clients. iTechPro
implemented SharePoint customizations, provided data
migration services, light modifications to the main Oasis
web site and training on the new SharePoint system. iTechPro
also enabled the external users feature of SharePoint and
facilitated the invitation of external users (Oasis clients)
to the SharePoint Site. iTechPro then applied the
appropriate permissions to allow external users to access
only their own client reports.
Nationwide clients with
hundreds of locations were set up so that their client access
portal was broken down by several regions with regional
managers having access to information only appropriate for
their specific region.
By providing the SharePoint
site for its clients, Oasis Research is now able to provide
easy, secure and nationwide access to the research reports
it produces for its clients. Using Office Web Apps, clients
will also be assured of being able to open the reports even
if they do not happen to have Office installed on their
computer. In addition, Oasis will be able to provide a
historical library of research reports that the client is
free to access at any time.
By moving to an online system,
Oasis also solved the rare but important problems associated
with email systems and email attachments. These challenges
included emails falsely identified as SPAM, file size limits
on attachments, and clients without the necessary software
to open the attached files.
